Mary Jane Walsh is a Connecticut artist whose acrylic paintings find beauty in the everyday.

After many years as a teacher, Mary Jane began devoting more time to her art in recent years, developing a body of work inspired by the familiar places, objects, and quiet moments that surround her. Her paintings often capture scenes from the Connecticut coastline—weathered houses, boats, gardens, beaches, and glimpses of life by the water—as well as simple everyday objects that catch her eye.

Working primarily in acrylic, Mary Jane brings a thoughtful, painterly quality to these ordinary subjects. There is something both familiar and nostalgic in her work, a celebration of the places and details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Her paintings are a natural reflection of the coastal New England landscape she calls home—and we are especially happy to share her work here at Deux Bisous.
